In 2011, the National Association of Realtors (NAR) conducted a survey of home buyers and sellers to see what mattered to them the most when working with a Realtor. And without further delay, here are the top 5 answers…..
- Helping them find the right home to purchase.
- Help negotiating the price
- Help negotiating the terms of the sale
- Determining the market value of the home by looking at comparable homes
- Assisting with paperwork
Personally, I’m surprised this one wasn’t in the top five: Responding to client’s phone calls, emails and questions in a timely manner.If and when home buyers and sellers start complaining about about their agent, the number one complaint is that their agent is not returning calls and emails as quickly as they would like. This is one that I’m keenly aware of and try my utmost to reply to all correspondence as quickly as humanly possible unless it’s 2am or I’m out of phone / internet range. We’ll just have to wait for the complaints survey to come out.
