My dream home

Dream homes. Sweet dreams.

Now, snap out of it and focus on the important stuff!

Ideally, at this stage you have been pre-approved by a lender for a loan and know how much you can, or want to borrow. Once you are ready to start seriously looking at homes to buy, it is a good idea to have your list of must-haves and nice-to-haves. With the exception of Bill Gates and a few others, unfortunately us mere mortals can’t have it all when it comes to buying a home. But that doesn’t mean that will a little careful planning you won’t end up a with a great home that meets all your neeeds.

Future architects designing a dream home!

You will be consumed with the urge to pop into every open house on the weekend, surf listings on-line when the boss is not looking, plus an additional three hours of surfing at home in the evening. You will actually start dreaming of homes while you sleep. It’s a very common addition and not easily treated. I’ve been there!

While it’s is nice to dream, when a sack of money is at stake, a reality check is required. Before you start looking for homes in earnest, take the time to decide what kind of home and features will work best for your particular needs and then you will be free to dream all you want (within your particular price range that is). I know, I’m such a party pooper but you’ll thank me later.
